the noe valley
four
SAN FRANCISCO, CA
Small space, big living.
The Noe Valley Four is a multi-family renovation and addition project in Noe Valley, San Francisco. Situated in a 25-ft lot with abutting properties on both sides, the existing non-conforming building contains 4 residential units, a car garage, a common staircase, private decks, and a rear yard. Two large, corner bay windows respond to the traditional bay windows prevalent in the neighborhood. The work includes interior renovations, a fourth floor addition, expansion towards the rear yard, facade renovation, garage level excavation, and full seismic retrofit with sprinkler system installed. A new butterfly roof adds character, creates interesting spaces, and solves the problem of light deprivation which is typical to houses on narrow lots.
This project was completed at Kerman Morris Architects in San Francisco, where I served as Lead Project Architect and Manager, contributing to the schematic design, design development, construction documents, and construction administration phases.
